To a suspension of NaH (0.21 g, 8.31 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) was added 1-benzyl-3-hydroxypiperidine hydrochloride (0.78 g, 3.3 mmol) in DMF (5 mL), and the resulting reaction mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 30 minutes. 3-chloro-6-(imidazol-1-yl)pyridazine (0.6 g, 3.3 mmol) in DMF (5 mL) was then added dropwise. The reaction mixture was stirred at ambient temperature for 30 minutes. After removal of DMF in vacuo, the black oil was dissolved in CH2Cl2 (50 mL), washed with water and brine. Purification using column chromatography afforded 3-[(6-(imidazol-1-yl)pyridazin-3-yl)oxy]-1-benzylpiperidine (400 mg) as a yellow oil.
