2M HCl (10 ml) was added to a stirred solution of the product from step (iv) (3.4 g) in MeOH (30 ml). The mixture was stirred at rt for 3 days then the solvent evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was partitioned between DCM/aq NaHCO3 solution, the organics separated, dried and evaporated under reduced pressure to afford the subtitle compound, 2.38 g.
