Procedure
A solution of 3-bromo-7,8,9,10-tetrahydrocyclohepta[d]pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-11(6H)-one (50 mg, 0.17 mmol), 4-phenyl-1H-imidazole (37.4 mg, 0.26 mmol), CuI (8 mg, 0.04 mmol) and Cs2CO3 in DMF was stirred at 80° C. under nitrogen. The completion of the reaction was monitored by TLC. After the suspension was diluted with water (30 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (3×50 mL), the combined organic phases were concentrated to crude product and 23 mg desired product was obtained by column chromatography purification. MS (ESI): 357 (MH+); MS (ESI): 357 (MH+); 1H NMR (300 MHz, CDCl3) δ 9.15-9.13 (d, J=7.83 Hz, 1H), 8.16 (s, 1H), 7.87-7.85 (d, J=7.38 Hz, 2H), 7.72 (s, 1H), 7.57-7.56 (d, J=2.19 Hz, 1H), 7.48-7.44 (t, J=7.35 Hz, 2H), 7.38-7.35 (d, J=7.08 Hz, 1H), 7.26 (m, 1H), 3.00-2.97 (m, 4H), 1.93-1.91 (m, 2H), 1.79-1.77 (m, 2H), 1.71-1.69 (m, 2H).
