2-(2,3-Dihydro-benzo[1,4]dioxin-6-ylmethyl)-5-nitro-2H-isoquinolin-1-one (0.9 g, 0.002 mol), tin dichloride dihydrate (2 g, 0.009 mol) were stirred in tetrahydrofuran (10 mL, 0.1 mol) at room temperature for 20 hours. The volatiles were removed and the residue was purified via flash column chromatography (40 g of silica gel, 50% EtOAc/Hexanes) gave a red oil. MS m/z (M+H) 309.2.
