To a solution of INT 9 (200 mg, 0.66 mmol) and azetidine-3-carboxylic acid (67 mg, 0.66 mmol) in MeOH (6.5 mL) was added HOAc (0.038 mL, 0.66 mmol) followed by NaCNBH3 (42 mg, 0.66 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The mixture was diluted with saturated aqueous NaHCO3 and extracted with CH2Cl2 (2×). The combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by preparative HPLC (H2O/CH3CN) to afford the title compound Example 4.
