{3,5-Dimethyl-1-[4-(4-trifluoromethyl-phenylsulfanylmethyl)-benzyl]-1H-pyrazol-4-yl}-acetic acid methyl ester (intermediate 16.1.3, 80 mg, 0.18 mmol) was dissolved in 2 ml dioxane and aqueous NaOH solution (0.36 ml, 1 M) was added. After stirring for 2.5 h at 60° C. and dilution with water, aqueous HCl solution (0.37 ml, 1 M) was added. The product was isolated by filtration, washed with water and dried under reduced pressure.
