Procedure

A suspension of 0.4 g of (E)-[[4-[4-(4-bromo-benzoyl)-phenoxy]-but-2-enyl]-methyl-amino]-acetonitrile (Ex. 2j) and 0.04 g of potassium carbonate in 3 ml of dimethyl sulphoxide is cooled to 0° C. and treated with 1 ml of 30% hydrogen peroxide solution. The reaction mixture is warmed to room temperature and stirred overnight. For the working up, the mixture is treated with 10 ml of water and the separated crystals are filtered off and washed with water. There is obtained 0.38 g of (E)-2-[[4-[4-(4-bromo-benzoyl)-phenoxy]-but-2-enyl]-methyl-amino]-acetamide, MS: m/e 372 (M+ -H2NCO, 1Br).
