Procedure
A portion (1.45 g) of the compound obtained in Example 183 was dissolved in methanol (50 ml) and 1N hydrochloric acid (50 ml) and to the solution was added 10% palladium-carbon (1.45 g). The mixture was stirred overnight at room temperature under a hydrogen atmosphere. The reaction mixture was neutralized with potassium carbonate, the catalyst and the inorganic salt were filtered off and washed with methylene chloride. The filtrate and the washed liquid were combined, washed with saturated aqueous solution of sodium chloride and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. Then, the solvent was distilled off under reduced pressure. The residue was crystallized from ether to yield 0.93 g (72%) of the titled compound as a pale yellow powder.
