Procedure
A solution of Intermediate 2 (500 mg, 1.040 mmol), 4-hydroxyphenylboronic acid (172 mg, 1.249 mmol), Pd[(C6H5)3P]4 (120 mg, 0.104 mmol) and cesium fluoride (506 mg, 3.331 mmol) in dry THF was heated to reflux for 4.0 h. After completion of reaction, the mixture was concentrated in vacuo. The residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate, washed with water, brine and dried over anhydrous Na2SO4 to afford a crude residue which was purified using 1% CH3OH in CHCl3 to afford 271 mg of the desired compound as a yellow solid; 1H NMR (300 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ 0.26-0.28 (m, 2H), 0.48-0.54 (m, 2H), 1.03-1.07 (m, 1H), 3.67-3.70 (m, 2H), 3.76 (s, 3H), 6.81-6.92 (m, 3H), 6.97-7.03 (m, 3H), 7.10-7.13 (m, 2H), 7.47 (d, J=4.5 Hz, 1H), 7.95 (d, J=5.1 Hz, 1H), 8.10 (d, J=15.6 Hz, 1H), 9.57 (s, 1H); ESI-MS (m/z) 447.20 (M+H)+.
