Procedure
A solution of 3 (0.1 g, 0.273 mmol) in toluene (8 mL) was treated with tetrakis(triphenylphosphine) palladium (0.016 g, 0.014 mmol). An aqueous solution of K2CO3 (2 M, 1 mL) was then added, followed by a solution of phenylboronic acid (0.037 g, 0.3 mmol) in EtOH (5 mL). The resulting mixture was then refluxed for 24 h. The solvent was removed and the residue was purified by flash chromatography (EtOAc:n-hexane=2:3) to give Compound 6 (26.6 mg, 27%).
