To a solution of methyl 1-methyl-3-((8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-ylamino)methyl)-1H-indazole-4-carboxylate (0.54 g, 1.6 mmol) from Step A above in THF (5 mL) was added lithium hydroxide monohydrate (1.6 g, 38 mmol) in water (5 mL). The mixture was heated at 90° C. for 1 h and then concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was dried overnight under vacuum to afford crude lithium 1-methyl-3-((8-methyl-8-azabicyclo[3.2.1]octan-3-ylamino)methyl)-1H-indazole-4-carboxylate (1.54 g), which was used in the next step without further purification: LC/MS (ESI+) m/z 329 (M+H).
