A solution of 1,1-dimethylethyl (R)-2-[[methyl[[4-(4-bromophenoxy)phenyl]methyl]amino]methyl]-1-pyrrolidinecarboxylate (670 mg, 1.8 mmol) in a solution of 4 N hydrochloric acid in dioxane (6 mL) was stirred overnight. Solvent was removed under reduced pressure and 870 mg of (R)—N-[[4-(4-bromophenoxy)phenyl]methyl]-N-methyl-2-pyrrolidinemethanamine was isolated as the hydrochloride salt.
