t-Butyl (3RS,4RS)-3-(4-dimethylamino-6-methylpyrimidin-2-ylamino)-4-hydroxypyrrolidine-1-carboxylate (1.0 g) was dissolved in ethyl acetate (10 mL), followed by addition of a solution (7.5 mL) of 4 M HCl in ethyl acetate, and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 2 h. Diethyl ether was added to the solution, and the precipitated crystals were collected by filtration to obtain the title compound (0.89 g).
