To a solution of 19 (270 mg, 0.52 mmol) in 2-propanol (5 mL) was added 4N sodium hydroxide (1 mL) and the solution was stirred at rt for 3 h. The reaction mixture was acidified with 2N HCl (10 mL) and extracted with EtOAc (15 mL). The phases were separated and the aqueous phase was extracted with EtOAc (15 mL). The combined organic solution was dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to give 220 mg (95%, 98% purity) of 20 as a white solid.
