A mixture of 11 g of 3-methyl-2-oxaspiro[4.5]decan-1-ol, 7.7 g of pyridine and 9.2 g of acetic anhydride was heated at 50° C. for 12 hours. The reaction mixture was concentrated. The concentrate was purified by distillation, obtaining 13 g (yield 960) of the target compound, 3-methyl-2-oxaspiro[4.5]decan-1-yl acetate.
