A suspension of 5-(3-Fluoro-4-methanesulfonyl-phenyl)-4-methyl-thiazol-2-ylamine (17.5 mmol) and 1,1′-carbonyldiimidazole (4.26 g, 26.3 mmol, 1.5 equivalents) in CH2Cl2 (100 ml) was heated at 40° C.-reflux under argon until no starting material remains (30 min-5 hours) as determined by HPLC and NMR. When cool the solid precipitate was removed by filtration.
