Lithium hydroxide (131 mg, 3.12 mmol) was added to a solution of methyl {3-[2-(dimethylamino)-2-oxoethyl]-5,7-dimethyl-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzimidazol-1-yl}acetate from Step A (333 mg, 1.04 mmol) in THF (3 mL) and H2O (1 mL). After 72 h, H2O was added and the precipitate was collected by filtration to give the title compound. MS: nil/z=306 (M+1).
