Procedure
Sodium hydride (0.07 g, 2.94 mmol, 1.25 eq.) was added slowly to a solution of 4-naphthalen-2-yl-4-[2(tetrahydropyran-2-yloxy)-ethyl]-pyrrolidin-2-one (003F144) (0.81 g, 2.39 mmol). The solution was treated with benzyl bromide (0.6 mL, 4.9 mmol, 2 eq.) at 20° C. for 7 hours. The solution was partitioned between saturated aqueous ammonium chloride and ethyl acetate. The organic phase was dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was chromatographed on silica gel with 50% ethyl acetate in hexane to give 1.1620 g (92%) of the title compound.
