Procedure
A solution of 4-amino-phenol (1.00 g, 9.2 mmol) and triethylamine (1.42 ml, 10.1 mmol) was cooled to 0° C. and 4-trifluoromethyl-benzoyl chloride (1.36 ml, 9.2 mmol) was added dropwise. The reaction mixture was allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred for 6 hours. The reaction mixture was poured in water (50 ml). A precipitate was collected by filtration and taken up in ethyl acetate (200 ml). The organic solution was washed with 1N HCl (100 ml), water (100 ml), brine (100 ml), dried (MgSO4), filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford the title compound as a pale yellow solid (1.98 g, 77% yield).
