Procedure

To (S)-{1-[2-(2-hydroxy-phenyl)-7-methyl-quinazolin-4-yl]-pyrrolidin-3-yl}-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (174 mg, 0.41 mmol) at room temperature was added 1.4 mL of a 1:1 TFA:CH2Cl2 solution. The reaction mixture was stirred for 30 min and diluted with 10 mL of saturated NaHCO3 and 10 mL of CH2Cl2. The organic layer was separated and dried over Na2SO4. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure to give (S)-2-[4-(3-amino-pyrrolidin-1-yl)-7-methyl-quinazolin-2-yl]-phenol. LC/MS: m/z 321.2 (M+H)+ at 1.89 min (10%-99% CH3CN (0.035% TFA)/H2O (0.05% TFA)) which was used for the next step.
