Procedure

Prepared in analogy to Example 57(e) from rac-(2-chloro-6-ethyl-phenyl)-(1-trityl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)-methanol, triethylsilane and trifluoroacetic acid in dichloromethane, except that the reaction was carried out in a pressure tube at 70° C. for 16 h. White crystalline solid. MS (ISP): 223.3 ([{37Cl}M+H]+), 221.2 ([{35Cl}M+H]+).
