3.06 g (23.0 mmol) of cinnamylamine, 2.32 ml (30.1 mmol) of ketene dimer and 0.321 ml (2.30 mmol) of triethylamine were heated at 70° C. under stirring in 23 ml of toluene for 3 hours. A saturated aqueous sodium hydrogencarbonate solution was added to the reaction mixture. After the extraction with ethyl acetate, the organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and then concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain the title compound.
