Procedure
800 g of 3-nitro-4-chlorobenzenesulfonyl chloride was mixed with 1,000 ml of dichloromethane, and a solution of 600 g of hexadecylamine and 251 ml of triethylamine in dichloromethane was dropwise added thereto. After completion of the reaction, the reaction solvent was removed under reduced pressure, 3,000 ml of methanol was added to the residue, and the mixture was heated to dissolve the system. Gradual cooling of the solution gave crystals. The crystals were collected by filtration and dried.
