2-(2,4-Dichlorophenyl)-1-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-5-methyl-N-piperidin-1-yl-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide, prepared as described in Ex. 2, Step 1 (100 mg, 0.22 mmol) and triethylamine (0.31 ml, 2.25 mmol) in dichloromethane (2.5 ml) were cooled to −78° C. 2-Thiophenesulfonyl chloride (287 mg, 1.57 mmol) dissolved in dichloromethane (2.5 ml) was carefully added to the reaction mixture. The resulting mixture was stirred at −78° C. for 1 h, and at room temperature overnight. Water was added to the reaction, the phases were separated and the organic phase washed with water and dried. The solvent was removed under reduced pressure and separation by preparatory HPLC gave the title compound (110 mg, 83%) as a solid.
