Procedure

3-[3-Fluoro-4-(3-oxo-3-pyridin-3-yl-propenyl)-phenyl]-acrylic acid tert-butyl ester (550 mg, 1.55 mmol) was dissolved in DCM (15 ml) and TFA (5 ml). The resulting solution was stirred at RT for 4 h then the solvent was removed under vacuo giving 636 mg of 3-[3-fluoro-4-(3-oxo-3-pyridin-3-yl-propenyl)-phenyl]-acrylic acid as trifluoro acetate salt.
