The reaction of 2.88 g (0.0136 mol)of 1-chloro-1-[(3-methylphenyl)hydrazono]-2-propanone with 2.10 g of 4-chlorothiophenol and 2.04 ml of triethyl amine in 35 ml of ethanol as Example 11 yielded 3.8 g of 1-[(4-chlorophenyl)thio]-1-[(3-methylphenyl)hydrazono]-2-propanone, mp 112°-114° C.
