Procedure

A solution of 7-octadecylcarbamoyloxy-6-palmitoyloxy-4-thiaheptanoic acid t-butyl ester as obtained in Reference Example 8 (3.425 g) in trifiuoroacetic acid (5 ml)-dichloromethane (3 ml) was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour, followed by solvent concentration under reduced pressure, to yield the title compound (3.14 g, yield 99%) as a colorless solid.
