Procedure
A solution of 0.4 g of (3aR, 7R,7aR)-7-chloro-2-chlorocarbonyl-4,4-diphenylperhydroisoindole in 6 cm3 of a 1N aqueous solution of hydrochloric acid and 14 cm3 of tetrahydrofuran is heated with stirring at 80° C. for 9 hours. The reaction mixture is concentrated to dryness under reduced pressure (2.7 kPa). 0.35 g of (3aR, 7R,7aR)-7-chloro-4,4-diphenylperhydroisoindole hydrochloride is obtained in the form of a white solid.
