The above amide (276 mg, 0.70 mmol) in THF (10 mL) was reduced with BH3-THF (1.0M in THF, 4.2 mL, 4.2 mmol) at reflux and treated with 6N HCl (8 mL) to afford [1-((R)-3-amino-1-methyl-propyl)-piperidin-4-yl]-(4-methyl-pyridin-3-ylmethyl)-(4-methylsulfanyl-phenyl)-amine as a clear oil (203 mg, 70%) after basic work-up and purification.
