Procedure
A suspension of 400 mg of the product obtained in Step C (0.82 mmol) in 5 ml of 1N HCl is stirred for 1 hour at 80° C. After neutralisation of the reaction mixture using 10% NaHCO3, the precipitate is filtered off, washed with water and dried. The white solid is suspended in ethanol and dissolved by adding methanolic HCl. The solution is evaporated to dryness and the residue is taken up in an ethanol/ethyl ether mixture to yield the expected product after filtration.
