Procedure
To a -78° C. THF (7 mL) solution of compound 14 (450 mg, 0.82 mmol) was added 1N THF solution of sodium bis(trimethylsilyl)amide (0.8 mL) dropwise. The resultant solution was stirred for 10 min, followed by the addition of acetyl chloride (0.054 mL, 0.76 mmol). The resultant solution was warmed to room temperature and stirred for an additional 30 min and concentrated- The residue was partitioned between ethyl acetate and H2O. The organic phase was dried (MgSO4) and concentrated to afford 450 mg (93%, crude yield) of the title compound which was directly used in Step B.
