Procedure
To a solution of 1 g crude 3-(2-ethoxycarbonylhydrazino)-1-hydroxy-6-(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)-7-trifluoromethylquinoxalin-2(1H)-one in 50 ml dry N,N-dimethylformamide was added 1.05 g (~4.0 mmol) triphenylphosphine. Stirring was continued at 130° C. for 17 h followed by evaporation in vacuo. Column chromatography (silica gel; eluent: dichloromethane containing 10% methanol) gave the title compound (0.7 g; 75%). M.p. 375° C. (decomp.).
