Procedure

To a solution of 8.10 g of the intermediate obtained from Step A in 80 mL of ethanol was added 1 g of 20% palladium hydroxide/C and hydrogenated with hydrogen balloon for 1 h. The catalyst was filtered off through a pad of celite and washed with ethyl acetate. The filtrate was concentrated to give 4.69 g of the product as a colorless foam.
