Procedure
A mixture of 3-chloro-1,2-benzisoxazole (0.238 g, 1.55 mmol), 4-aminomethyl-1-phenylmethyl piperidine (0.316 g, 1.55 mmol), and K2CO3 (0.214 g, 1.55 mmol) in DMSO (10 mL) was heated at 150° C. for 20 hours. The cooled reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc (75 mL) and poured over H2O (200 mL). The organic phase was separated and washed with brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated. The brown oil obtained was purified by silica gel flash chromatography (4% MeOH-CH2Cl2) to give the title compound (0.084 g, 17%) as pale yellow oil.
