Procedure
To a cold (0° C.) solution of ethyl N-tert-butoxycarbonyl-3-oxo-4-(3-methylbenzyl)piperidine-4-carboxylate (1.55 g, 4.13 mmol) in ethyl acetate (75 mL), a stream of anhydrous hydrogen chloride gas was bubbled for 20 min. The resultant mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 1 h, purged with argon for 10 min., and concentrated under vacuum to provide the title compound as white solid.
Workup
- custompurged with argon for 10 min.
- concentrationconcentrated under vacuum
