2-Methoxypyrrolo[1,2-b]pyridazine-6-carboxylic acid (1.06 g, 5.50 mmol) was suspended in HBr (10 mL, 33% solution in acetic acid) and heated to 50° C. for 2 hrs. The solvent was evaporated in vacuo and used directly (500 mgs). An analytical standard was prepared using reverse phase HPLC with a gradient of acetonitrile/water and 0.05% TFA as modifier. MS m/z 179.1 (M+1). 1H NMR (DMSO-d6, 400 MHz) δ 12.29 (bs, 1H), 11.60 (bs, 1H), 7.89-7.86 (m, 2H), 6.76 (d, J=2.0 Hz, 1H), 6.36 (d, J=9.6 Hz, 1H).
