To a solution of (1S,2S)-1-N-[3-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrazin-2-yl]cyclopentane-1,2-diamine hydrochloride (530 mg, 1.67 mmol) in dry DMF (5.6 ml) was added 2-(2H-1,2,3-triazol-2-yl)benzoic acid (CAS number 1001401-62-2; 348 mg, 1.84 mmol), HATU (953 mg, 2.51 mmol) and triethylamine (699 μl, 5.01 mmol) and then stirred at room temperature for 17 hours. The reaction was partitioned between ethyl acetate and a saturated solution of sodium bicarbonate. The organics were washed with water, brine, dried over magnesium sulfate and concentrated in vacuo. The resulting residue was purified by column chromatography (basic silica, 0-100% ethyl acetate/petrol) to afford the title compound.
