A microwave vial was charged with N-[(1S,2S)-2-aminocyclopentyl]-2,6-m dimethoxybenzamide hydrochloride (Intermediate 5; 80 mg, 0.27 mmol), DIPEA (0.139 ml, 0.80 mmol), 2-chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)pyrimidine (CAS number 69034-12-4; 0.058 mg, 0.32 mmol) and dry NMP (0.9 ml). The resulting mixture was subjected to microwave irradiation at 250° C. for 20 minutes. The crude material was purified by reverse phase preparative HPLC (eluted with acetonitrile/water with 0.1% ammonia) to afford the title compound.
