Procedure

40 g of methacrylic acid and 0.5 g of hydroquinone are added to 1 liter of Isopar G and maintained at about 90° C. for about 10 hours. Next, 40 grams of lauryl methacrylate, 18 g methyl methacrylate, and 0.5 g benzoyl peroxide are added to the reaction flask to initiate polymerization. Polymerization is continued for five hours to produce a methacrylic acid-lauryl methacrylate-methyl methacrylate terpolymer. The terpolymer solution/dispersion is added to about 100 grams of soluble precursor A and ball milled to produce a substantially homogeneous gel on the borderline of solubility in Isopar G.
