Procedure
DIPEA (15.7 ml) was added to a stirred solution of ethyl 2-mercaptoacetate (9.3 ml) and 6-chloro-5-cyano-4-(3-nitrophenyl)-2-methylthio-pyrimidine (example 9(b), 26.0 g) in a mixture of EtOH (250 ml) and DCM (250 ml). After 1 h at room temperature, 0.1N aq. HCl (500 ml) was added to the mixture which was then extracted with DCM (3*500 ml), dried (MgSO4) and concentrated under reduced pressure.
Workup
- extractionwas then extracted with DCM (3*500 ml)
- dry with materialdried (MgSO4)
- concentrationconcentrated under reduced pressure
