To a solution of isopropyl 2-[3-[[5-(3,4-difluorophenyl)-2,3-dimethyl-phenyl]methylamino]-2,4-difluoro-phenoxy]acetate (70 mg, 0.15 mmol, 1.0 eq) in a mixture of THF (1.5 mL) and MeOH (0.5 mL) was added LiOH (2M aqueous solution, 1.5 mL, 3.0 mmol). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 1 h then the organic solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The remaining aqueous solution was diluted with water and the solution acidified to pH 4-5 with 3M HCl. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc and the combined organic extracts were washed with water and brine, dried (Na2SO4), filtered and evaporated in vacuo to give the title compound as a white solid (63 mg, 99%).
