A mixture of 2-(chloromethyl)-5,8-dimethyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrazine (420 mg, 2.14 mmol) and triphenylphosphine (672 mg, 2.57 mmol) in 1,2-dichloroethane (10 mL) was heated to 140° C. in a microwave reactor for 1 h. The reaction mixture was cooled to room temperature and concentrated to give the title compound as a yellow solid (980 mg, yield 100%). ESI MS: m/z 424 [M−35]+.
