Procedure
N-(2-(5-Chloro-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl)-4-((4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)methyl)benzamide was prepared following Method C starting from N-(2-(5-chloro-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl)-4-(chloromethyl)benzamide (0.053 g; 0.153 mmol) and N-methylpiperazine (0.0684 mL; 0.610 mmol) in THF (3 mL). The mixture was heated at 80° C. for 5 hours. Flash chromatography on silica gel (eluent 1 to 15% methanol in dichloromethane) furnished 0.028 g (44%) of the title compound as a white solid.
