Procedure

N-(2-(5-Chloro-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl)-3-((4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)methyl)benzamide was prepared following Method C starting from N-(2-(5-chloro-1H-indol-3-yl)ethyl)-3-(chloromethyl)benzamide (0.050 g; 0.144 mmol) and N-methylpiperazine (0.0554 mL; 0.5 mmol) in THF (3 mL). The mixture was heated at 70° C. for 5 hours. Flash chromatography on silica gel (eluent 10 to 15% methanol in dichloromethane) furnished 0.039 g (66%) of the title compound as a white solid.
