N-(4-{5-Bromo-4-[2-(3H-imidazol-4-yl)-ethylamino]-pyrimidin-2-ylamino}-phenyl)-trifluoro acetamide (1 g, 1.9 mmole) was dissolved in THF (10 ml), MeOH (10 ml) and water (5 ml) and LiOH (455 mg) was added in one portion at room temperature. The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for two days, the solvent removed under reduced pressure The residue was dissolved in ethyl acetate and water and extracted with ethyl acetate (3×). The combined organic layers were combined and dried over magnesium sulfate. After evaporation of the solvent one obtains 350 mg of N2-(4-Amino-phenyl)-5-bromo-N4-[2-(3H-imidazol-4-y)-ethyl]-pyrimidine-2,4-diamine. ESI-MS: 375.
