Procedure

3,4-Dichloro-N-(2-isopropyl-pyrimidin-4-yl)-benzenesulfonamide (80 mg, example 14) was dissolved in DMF (1 mL) and treated with cesium carbonate (113 mg). To the mixture was added 2-chloro-N,N-dimethylacetamide (37 mg) and the resulting suspension was allowed to stir at room temperature for 48 hours and then at 80° C. for 24 hours. The mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate, washed with brine, dried over Na2SO4 and evaporated to dryness. The residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel using DCM/MeOH/NH4OH 9:1:0.1 as an eluant. The desired product was obtained as a colorless glass (28 mg). MS (ESI): 431.3 (MH+).
