Procedure

Ethyl 3-(4-(5-((3,3-dimethylbutanoyl)amino)-4,6,7-trimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-3-yl)phenyl)butanoate (150 mg, 0.32 mmol) obtained in Example 182, 1 N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (2 mL) and THF (3 mL)-methanol (3 mL) were stirred at room temperature for 16 hours. To the reaction solution was added hydrochloric acid to make the solution acidic, and the aqueous layer was extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure to obtain 107 mg (yield: 74%) of the title compound. Melting point: 209-210° C. (ethyl acetate-hexane).
