Procedure
To a solution of N-(3-hydroxy-2,2,4,6,7-pentamethyl-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-5-yl)-3,3-dimethylbutanamide (450 mg, 1.41 mmol) obtained in Example 234 in dichloromethane (3 mL) was added triethylamine (0.79 mL, 5.64 mmol), and then added dropwise with ice-cooling methanesulfonyl chloride (0.22 mL, 2.82 mmol). The reaction solution was stirred for 30 minutes, and to the reaction solution was added piperidine (0.70 mL, 7.05 mmol), and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 hours. Water was added to the reaction solution and the product was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The obtained residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (hexane ethyl acetate=20:1) to obtain 270 mg (yield: 50%) of the title compound. Melting point: 229-230° C. (ethyl acetate-hexane).
