Procedure
A mixture of diamine 1 (137 mg, 0.36 mmol) and 4-bromobenzaldehyde (66 mg, 0.50 mmol) in dry dioxane (2 mL) was heated to 100° C. for 16 h. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to rt and was then concentrated. The resulting residue was purified by reverse phase HPLC to finish 2 as the TFA salt: LCMS m/z 437.1, tR=2.16 min.
