Ethyl 2-(ethoxycarbonyloxymethyl)-5-(4,5-dimethoxy-2-nitrobenzoyl)-2H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylate (45 mg) prepared in step (3a) was dissolved in ethyl acetate (1 ml). Palladium hydroxide (15 mg) was added to the solution. The mixture was stirred in a hydrogen atmosphere at room temperature for 15 hr. The reaction solution was filtered through Celite. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to give ethyl 5-(2-amino-4,5-dimethoxybenzoyl)-2-(ethoxycarbonyloxymethyl)-2H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxylate as a yellow oil (40 mg, 95%).
